MLB® The Show™ is one of the most recognized names in sports gaming, a console franchise with a deep, passionate fanbase and a strong visual identity built over decades. Sony needed to bring that world to mobile, and doing so meant walking a narrow edge: the mobile game had to feel The Show™ unmistakably, while standing on its own as a distinct experience built for a different platform and a different kind of player. Tribe was brought in to bridge that gap, translating a beloved console brand identity into mobile-native creative that could live in the App Store, across digital platforms, and in the hands of new audiences who might be picking up a bat for the first time.
We started where every mobile user starts: the App Store. The app icon had to carry the full weight of the franchise in a single glance, so we worked closely with Sony's brand guidelines to create something that felt premium and immediately recognizable on any home screen. From there, we developed key art, app preview screenshots, and gameplay imagery that framed the mobile experience as exciting and accessible without undercutting the prestige of the mainline title.
The App Preview Video was a creative highlight. With B-Roll and in-game footage provided by Sony, we crafted a video that conveys the game's feeling: the crack of the bat, the thrill of the diamond, in the compressed, high-attention format the App Store demands. To round out the campaign, we built a full Digital Toolkit: event card templates, social templates, and web add-ons to give the game a consistent, polished presence wherever it appeared.
